Stephanie Schober's knowledge of the body is grounded in extensive study and research. Stephanie teaches Pilates as a form of therapeutic exercise. Ranging from teenagers to people in their 70’s, her students include people who are recovering from specific injuries, suffer from chronic back pain, aim to regain strength after child-birth and others who just enjoy the physical and mental benefits of exercise. The lessons are designed to increase awareness, strength and effective use of the deep abdominal, pelvic floor and lumbar muscles, which are crucial to stabilize the spine and to prevent and rehabilitate lower back pain. Further aims are to promote a healthy posture, effective movement co-ordination and breathing, to improve balance and release muscular tension. Stephanie teaches mat-work exercises using small equipments. The students can eventually practice independently and apply the principles behind the technique to their daily activities.
